Stories told in light and shadow

Hi, I’m Gemma — the photographer behind Six Ravens Photography. I have been a photographer for around 12 years, in the North East of the UK and have photographed weddings, events, families and new-borns but have recently rebranded to steer my photography in a style authentic to myself.

For me, photography has never been about perfectly posed smiles or everything being perfect. I’m drawn to the moments in between — windswept hair, muddy feet, quiet glances, wild children and the little details that make a photograph feel like a memory rather than just an image.

My style is dark, natural and a little bit magical, inspired by woodland, changing seasons, beautiful light and the stories hidden in ordinary moments.

As a mam myself, I know that life rarely goes according to plan. So my sessions are relaxed, with plenty of room to move, explore, laugh and simply be yourselves. You don’t need to know how to pose or worry about your children behaving perfectly. I want to photograph you as you are.

I’m building Six Ravens around the kind of images I’ve always loved: honest, atmospheric photographs filled with emotion, light and shadow.

Because the photographs that mean the most aren’t always the perfect ones.

They’re the ones that feel like you.
